Museums in Bursa
CITY MUSEUM

In order to locate the government offices of Bursa on the same area, Palace of Finance and Palace of Justice were built by Ekrem Hakkı Ayverdi in 1926. Between the years 2001 and 2004 Palace of Justice was restored and in 2004 it opened its doors to visitors as the city museum .
Having 3 storeys , museum is the finest example of contemporary museums.On basement arranged as handicraft bazaar, you can see makers of handkerchiefs, knives sugar, pack-seddles;carpenters and silk-merchants.On the basis flor,there are gift shops, a cafe,the entrance of museum and corridors of museum . On the first corridor , it is exhibited the photos of Bursa until the Otoman Period. On the second corridor, it is exhibited Bursa’s photos in republic period and contemporary period.
ARCHAELOGICAL MUSEUM

The archaelogical works collected in Bursa’s Boy’s High Scool and Yeşil Medrese between the years 1904 and 1972 werw carried to Archaelogical Museum built in Kültürpark and after its modern restoration , it was opened visitors in 1972 .
The museum stil serves in the same building. The works being exhibited in the museum are the ones found in Bithynia and Mysia regions between 3000 B.C and of Bithynia Period.
YEŞİL MEDRESE ( THE OLD THEOLOGICAL SCHOOL)

One of the first Ottoman religious schools,the Yeşil Medrese is also know as “Sultan Medrese “. It was built by Hacı İvaz Pahsa with the order of Çelebi Sultan Mehmet .
In 1972 , archaelogical Works in Yeşil Medrese were taken to the Archaelogical Museum in Kültürpark. After medrese was restored, it was opened in 1975 as The Turkish and Islamic Works Museum.
With its courtyard, it is the finest example of Anatolian Seljuk’s medreses.
MUDANYA

Mudanya is a district af Bursa which is located to the northwest of Marmara Region. To the North,Gemlik Gulf which is recess of Marmara Region is located. Mudanya which is located between 28 and 29 north longitudes and 40 and 41 north latitudes is only 32 km away from Bursa.Mudanya is one of the three places which have the freshest air in the world.
ATATÜRK MUSEUM

Locaten on Çekirge Street , Atatürk Museum was built by Colonel Mehmet. At Atatürk ‘s second visit to Bursa( 20-24 January 1923 ) , the Municipality of Bursa bought this building and gave it to Atatürk as a gift . He donated it to the city of Bursa in 1938 . The pavilion was changed into a museum and opened to visit at 50 th year of the Republic in 1973 .
THE MONUMENT OF HACIVAT AND KARAGOZ
Karagöz and Hacivat which were the presentatives of shadow play lived in Bursa and they worked in the construction of Ulu Mosque.According to do legend, Karagöz and Hacivat held up the buildig of mosque by their joking and speaking.As a result,Orhan Gazi had them executed.The Sultan then regretted their execution and Seyh Küşteri made their figures and showed on the screen.Thus Karagöz and Hacivat Shadow Play was given birth to.The popularity of Karagöz and Hacivat can bee seen ..
